About Claire DiVizio

Claire DiVizio (they/them) is a versatile artist whose onstage performances have included opera, operetta, musical theatre, recital, cabaret, and drag, and whose off-stage work ranges from stage direction, costume and production design, and arts administration, to writing and music education. Claire is the founder and Executive & Artistic Director of Thompson Street Opera Company, a Chicago-based “storefront” company that exclusively produces chamber operas by living composers. The company boasts sold-out performances, an Honorable Mention in Chicago Classical Review’s “Best of 2019”, grant support from the Illinois Arts Council and City of Chicago, and an ever-expanding roster of exceptional and diverse artists.
