Why not thanking donors is costing you money! (...and what to do about it!)

Most nonprofits are laser-focused on getting donors. But what about keeping them?

Well, the fact is…

😕 About half of all new donors who give to you this year will not give again next year.

😕 85% of donors say if they received a thank you phone call they’d probably give again…

😕 But most nonprofits don’t have a plan for saying thank you - and some of them never thank their donors at all!

Not Thanking Donors is Costing You Money

Stop assuming that once a donor gives once, she’ll give again. The donor retention rate has hovered around 45% for years and years...and that means one out of every two donors won’t give again.

Spend your lunch break with us and learn Giant Squid Group’s four key donor stewardship strategies that you can create, automate, and put on auto-pilot!

About Cat

Catherine Ashton is on a mission to change the way nonprofits raise money. As the founder of Giant Squid Group, Catherine works with start-up and small nonprofits in Austin, TX and Chicago, IL to land donors, win grants, and fund their works. With her coaching and support, her clients raise millions of dollars each year and have an incredible impact on their communities. When Catherine is not working with her team, she’s hiking with her husband, three-year-old daughter and their lazy rescue pitbull, Latke.

About Sam

Sam found her passion for the nonprofit sector as an intern at a local community action agency. Since then, she has pursued education and opportunities in strategic planning, community outreach, grant writing, and project coordination. Sam loves all things organization and prides herself in her ability to hold many moving parts while advancing projects toward their goals. She lives in Iowa City, IA with her partner, their rescue pup, and 16-year old grumpy cat. Outside of work, she can be found hiking, spending time at local breweries, or enjoying all things food.
