The Crash Course

Giant Squid Group's Amplify Austin Crash Course is an intensive, "do-it-together" coaching program for nonprofits of all sizes. This eight-week course is designed to support fundraisers in creating effective, strategic, and replicable Peer to Peer fundraising campaigns - particularly Amplify Austin Day!  The course can be taken as a follow-up to the End of Year Giving Crash Course or as a standalone course.

Course Features

Weekly Workshops that cover the blueprint of a successful campaign; creating successful fundraising messaging; writing solicitation letters and emails; segmenting data; leveraging social media; post-campaign stewardship; and case studies from successful campaigns.

  • Weekly Coworking Sessions and Office Hours so participants can check in, share ideas, and receive guidance from the Giant Squid Group team.

  • Homework & Accountability Check-Ins to help everyone stay  on track with weekly assignments and receive personalized feedback from the leadership team.

The Amplify Austin crash course builds off Giant Squid Group’s End of Year Crash Course, but can be taken alone as well. The eight-week course follows a similar format. Weekly workshops will cover key points tailored for Amplify Austin, including:

  1. Creating a Successful Campaign Blueprint: What are you doing, and how will you get there? End of Year Crash Course participants will audit what worked and what didn’t, to make adjustments. New participants will start at the beginning.

  2. Recruitment and Engagement: How do we identify and recruit supporters and P2P fundraisers, and what training, knowledge, and resources do they need?

  3. Goal Setting and Tracking: How can we look at past fundraising efforts to set realistic, achievable, and trackable goals?

  4. Meaningful Storytelling: We’ll learn to create a compelling Amplify Austin landing page and solicitation emails, and create a toolkit of storytelling basics to share with P2P fundraisers.

  5. Recognition and Incentives: We’ll plan on how to keep our P2P fundraisers engaged, and how to create meaningful recognition opportunities for everyone who supports you, whether as a fundraiser, donor, or cheerleader. 

In addition to the weekly workshops,  office hours, and accountability check-ins, we’ll host day-long office hours on Amplify Austin Day so that participating nonprofits can co-work, get feedback, troubleshoot together, and have a sense of camaraderie and support. 

The Crash Course meets Mondays at 11:00am CST January 13th through March 10, 2025.


Pricing

$128 - No one turned away!

At Giant Squid Group, no one is turned away for lack of funds. $128 ($16 per workshop) is the minimum amount required for us to run this series. This price is prioritized for organizations involved in social justice work, particularly those led by and for communities that have not been prioritized in the past and who continue to face systemic barriers in accessing funding.

$255 - Full Cost Rate

We need the majority of cohort members to pay $255 ($32 per workshop) or higher. Thank you for enabling us to offer this program at an accessible rate.

$385 Redistribution Rate

If you have a well-resourced budget and/or access to professional development funds and are in a position to “pay it forward” please pay $385 or more ($48/workshop). This allows us to offer our pay-what-you-should pricing to all organizations.
